Each member of the Resurgens Foot & Ankle Center is a board-certified or board-eligible medical doctor specializing in the treatment of foot and ankle disorders. Many are fellowship-trained in foot & ankle orthopaedic surgery and all have extensive experience and proven results in the specialty.
Our physicians are orthopaedic surgeons, not podiatrists. What’s the difference? Orthopaedists complete four years of medical school plus five or more years of rigorous medical and surgical training in an orthopaedic residency program. Plus, each Foot & Ankle Center physician has specific training to foot and ankle conditions of all kinds through academic fellowship or other accredited programs.
Podiatrists attend podiatry school and earn a D.P.M. (doctor of podiatric medicine degree) plus complete 2 or more years of residency training. They are credentialed and governed by separate podiatric associations.
